Poupee Mecanique Misaki & Amelie

Breaking news!
Special edition “Mod” Misaki and “Royal” Amelie designed by Poupee Mecanique! :D They debuted a couple weeks ago at Doll show 25 and were then shown in Harajuku Dolls Exhibition in Laforet, one of the most wonderful doll exhibitions I’ve ever seen. We don’t have a definite release date yet but should be soon.

Needless to say I’m beyond overjoyed with them. I couldn’t have hoped to work for a better company! Many thanks to the wonderful Jason Woo for the invitation, and David Buttry who helped me immensely along the process, and also my incredibly talented friend Dylan who drew the illustrations for the packaging. I can’t wait to see the finished product on the shelves.

Mod Pierrot Misaki has gorgeous ash blonde hair, white lips and is wearing b/w brogues. Royal Harlequin Amelie has strawberry blonde hair, a little crown and rocking horse shoes in golf style.

Paris for a day

Was it extremely naive of me to think Versailles was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by green and nothing else? I couldn’t believe the sight of the real thing. I have no words to express how much I hate the times we’re living in. :( I want to withdraw from everything and create my own reality to live in, like Ludwig II of Bavaria. Only difference is, he was a king and stuff.

Diamanda Galas

She was so wonderful, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. She came out in a black dress with a long ruffly tail and moved so slowly and gracefully she looked like she was sliding on stage.

There were a lot of people in the audience who clearly had NO idea what they were about to watch, and of course they freaked out when she started screaming and whaling and were walking out after every song.

She performed three greek songs and my favourite Edith Piaf song, Heaven have mercy. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Weekend in Brighton

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I spent this weekend in Brighton with friends, saw Diamanda Galas, went to the wonderful vintage shops (which were obscenely expensive so no shopping) and on Sunday wondered off to the countryside, to a cute little farm where they serve cream teas and cakes.

Cream tea is tea served with scones, clotted cream and marmelade. It’s incredibly fattening and incredibly delicious, like heaven in your mouth.

On the way we saw Lancing college, an amazing Victorian boarding school with a gothic chapel next to it.

My friend Eva.
