Long time no see! It’s been a tough year. But some great news is from next week Momolita and I have a circus themed exhibition at Junie Moon Daikanyama. We named it “Midnight circus”. It will run for about a month so if you are in Tokyo, please check it out! We have brought beautiful antique toys from London to accompany the exhibition and sell. I will also be having two workshops on the 12th and 13th of the month at the gallery. We will be making a hat and a dress. I’ll be posting the info later!

These three Poupée mécanique customs are now on display in Junie Moon Daikanyama and will be auctioned off as part of Junie Moon’s “Blythe charity for Japan” scheme, with the earnings going towards the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami relief effort. Bidding will start tomorrow September 1st, with starting prices at 10,000yen for each doll! I am not sure if international fans can participate, I suppose not since the information has not been posted in English on the website! Here’s to hoping the girls will raise some funds for those still in need in the affected areas.
The after effects of the earthquake are not featured on international news anymore but as you can imagine thousands of people are now homeless and need a lot of help to start again from scratch. Their efforts to clean up the disaster stricken areas have been incredible, many areas almost returning to normal within just a couple of months. Only the japanese could pull that off. Still there’s a long way to go.
Some more pictures of the girls and their outfits!

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010Dollybird Vol.14 arrives
Monday, August 2nd, 2010The first two pages of my spread.

My characters were U-noa Lusis as Alice and U-noa B-el (+sleeping faceplate) as the Twin Mad Hatters. I’m very happy to be able to introduce my work with U-noa through the publication that has supported them so much from the very beginning. I love Dollybird and this issue in particular is one of the best in my opinion.
One of my most favourite artists ever is featured also, Mr. Julien Martinez from France.
He’s one of the most talented and inspiring people I have met and a very sweet and kind person too.
